The Yetisports web phenomenon is apparently still played by over 100,000 bored office workers every day (I like to think it's how Peter Gibbons would have passed the time, if the game was available before Initech burned down), making the iPhone version something of a prerequisite for the cubically challenged white collar brigade.

But Root9 has now set the penguin free, and released Yetisports 1 Free, which provides the classic game mode to entice you into the wonderful world of weird winter sports.

Your objective, as the eponymous yeti, is to club a falling penguin to help the flightless fellow fly as far as possible.

Yetisports 1 Free lands on the App Store ice just as a whole new Yetisports game is waiting in the wings, so head on over to the iPhone Antarctica to get some practice in.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
