PlayStation Mobile - Sony's curated game shop for PS Vita and a handful of Android devices - is now live.

Grab the app, or enter the PlayStation Store, and you'll be able to download games like Super Crate Box, Aqua Kitty, and Loot the Land. Prices start at 40p, and go up to £5.89 at launch. There's one freemium game, too: Everybody's Arcade.

Compatible devices

PlayStation Mobile games only run on PlayStation Certified devices. More PlayStation Certified devices will be available soon (Fujitsu and Sharp pledged support for the certification at Tokyo Game Show, for example), but right now the following 12 devices are compatible with PlayStation Mobile:

PS Vita
Xperia acro
Xperia acro HD
Xperia ion
Xperia S
Xperia arc
Xperia Play
Sony Tablet S
Sony Tablet P
HTC One S
HTC One X
HTC One V

PlayStation Mobile games can take advantage of the physical buttons on devices like the Xperia Play or PS Vita, but they also have touchscreen controls for the Android phones and tablets without joysticks and buttons.

How to play

PS Vita owners get it easy. Simply enter the PlayStation Store and you'll find a new tab for Mobile games.

On Android, the PlayStation Mobile app is available as an update to the PlayStation Store app. If you don't have that yet, download it here - note that you'll need to enter your device's settings and check the box that allows you to install apps from outside Google Play.

You'll log into the Android app with your Sony Entertainment Network account, which means you can play your games across both Vita and Android. Just open the 'Download List' to get the games you bought on another device.

(Note: you can only re-download your games on up to three different devices)
