Grand Theft Auto 3 already working with Xperia Play’s gamepad

The recently released Grand Theft Auto 3 for Android is already optimised for use on the Xperia Play, with the physical gamepad controls fully functional.

The only reservation is that the Xperia Play's controls don't mirror the original PlayStation 2's Grand Theft Auto 3 control setup exactly. For example, Circle replaces Triangle for hijacking vehicles on the Xperia Play, while the X button is used for attacking. The D-pad is used for movement and driving, while the left touchpad is used to switch between radio stations rather than as an alternative movement control. Rockstar has released an Android version of its seminal open-world epic to celebrate the title's 10th anniversary.

The game is available to download on certain high-end Android devices via the Android Market [download].
