Xbox Companion app for Windows Phone devices launches tomorrow, will let you control your Xbox 360 from your mobile
Won't cost a penny
Arriving tomorrow exclusively on Windows Phone devices, Microsoft's long-awaited official Xbox Companion app offers Xbox owners an alternative method with which to interact with their favourite games machine.
After installing Microsoft's free app on your Windows Phone blower, you'll have instant access to the Xbox Live Marketplace, meaning you can browse games, movies, music, and TV shows with a swipe of your finger.
Make a connectionIf you decide to put on a film, the app will open up an info page that lets you research the film as you watch. Hands-on reports confirm that the Bing-powered info centre can retrieve large amounts of related trivia with ease, including facts about cast members and their respective filmographies.
With the Xbox Companion app set to "controller" mode, you'll also be able to navigate your Xbox dashboard from your smartphone, control functions like video playback, and make purchases.
The Xbox Companion app will be available for all Windows Phone devices from tomorrow.
