Everyone ought to know that when travelling through bear country you should try and make as little noise as possible. That way, if you do come across a bear you can burst from the undergrowth and surprise it, preferably shouting, "Boo!" at the same time.

In the unlikely event that it becomes startled and does attack, you should then of course try and stick your fingers in its gills.

Okay, so maybe I’m not the best person to take survival tips from, but thankfully Namco is here to help with the recently released quirky iPhone application Worst Case Scenario.

“Players can see if their survival instincts are spot on for everything from crossing piranha-infested waters to wedding disasters,” said Jonathan Kromrey, general manager of Apple Games for Namco Networks.

Based on the insanely popular Worst-Case Scenario series that has to date sold more than ten million copies and been translated into 26 languages. The game is essentially rapid fire multiple choice trivia questions that can be attempted in Single Player or Group Survival mode.

Players can also go online with Facebook Connect to compare ranks and achievements with friends to see who is odds on to survive your next trip camping.

Once you’re confident you can navigate the local park without incident, you can then avail of the game's in-app offers, with three additional question packs available. Each question pack is priced at £0.59 or $0.99 and contains 300 questions taken from 11 different categories including Dating, Outdoor Survival and Politics.

Take a look at some potentially life-saving information in this trailer or alternatively hit ‘Buy it!’ to visit the App Store.

Remember, don’t be scared - be prepared!
