World of Retro Computer Games to be re-released on iPhone and iPad next weekend

As some of you may already know, both the iPhone and iPad editions of Elite Systems's World of Retro Computer Games have been removed from the App Store following conflicting claims regarding the ownership of one of the package's games: Tales Of The Unknown.

That game has subsequently been removed from the package, and World of Retro Computer Games is expected to be re-released onto Apple's digital store next weekend, complete with classic 8-bit title Summer Games.

"The Worldwide re-launch of the Apps will take place just before this Summer’s Games and from the outset they will feature some truly-classic, 80s, Anglo- American, 8-bit home computer games in their near-100% original form," Steve Wilcox, Elite's managing director, said.

"With the first and each subsequent monthly update of the Apps, more games will be added to the ‘in-app shop’, offering a total of one hundred retro games to collect."

From next weekend, you'll be able to download World of Retro Computer Games for your iPhone and iPad in two unique flavours: a paid version, which will feature Summer Games and nine additional free titles; and a free version, which will feature Summer Games and in-app purchases so you can download packs of three games for 69p / 99c a pop.

Subsequent packs of games, which will be introduce over the coming weeks and months, will be available for both apps through in-app purchases.

The paid version of World of Retro Computer Games for your iPhone will set you back 69p / 99c, as will the iPad version.
