SEGA issues World Pool Challenge to PSP owners

SEGA has announced World Pool Challenge 2007, which we've just been informed will not actually offer a 3D simulation of your local municipal swimming baths, complete with highdiving, cannonballing and rule-violating heavy petting. How disappointing!

What World Pool Challenge 2007 will enable you to do though is play a round of eight- or nine-ball pool against simulated versions of some of the world's best players.

You'll be able to create your own pool player or else play as one of the sport's top hustlers, and compete in more than ten officially licensed pool tournaments, such as the Mosconi Cup, World Cup, and U.S. Open.

Eight-ball, nine-ball and other cuesports will be available within the same tournament – all brought to life by the British game studio Blade Interactive.

World Pool Challenge 2007 also includes a World Trickshot Championship mode, where you'll be able to orchestrate famous shots made popular by films like Tom Cruise's The Colour of Money. It should prove a draw for those hankering more for a crowd-pleasing spot on Saturday night telly, or even for getting limbered up for pint-winning physics-defying stunts on the table down your local.

Taking our cue from SEGA, we expect World Pool Challenge 2007 to break this autumn.
