The first tournaments for the World Cyber Games UK Nationals have just been announced, and the UK will be entering players for both games in the mobile division.

The event, which began in 2001, has become known as the Olympics of video games, with almost 1 million international players from 78 different countries and areas around the world competing.

The mobile division of this year's World Cyber Games includes two games: Asphalt 4: Elite Racing, and Wise Star 2. Qualifiers will be held at the Multiplays M Festival/i-Series event at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire, on Friday the 7th August 2009 with the National Finals taking place on Saturday 8th August at the same venue.

The winners will compete in the finals held this year in Chengdu, China, with an anticipated 700 other players competing in the grand finals of the 14 official World Cyber Games.

Good luck, pocket gamers!
