E3 2008: Wonder World Amusement Park riding onto DS

Pegged as a companion to the forthcoming Wii title of the same name, we're not quite sure at this point whether to expect any cross-compatibility between the two Nintendo consoles at this point.

We suspect there isn't any, but one way or another, this 'amusement park in your pocket' concept, which is due around Christmas, looks decidedly intriguing.

There are six themed areas of the Wonder World Amusement Park to work through, with each part featuring an authentic funfair experience of rides and games. Using the touchscreen to toss, drive, shoot, whack, fish, spin and more, you can win prizes for our chosen character and unlock 30 different mini-games.

Each zone also features a specific head-spinning ride, and a wi-fi multiplayer function means you'll be able to take the whole family.

All that's missing is the surly carnies, diseased hotdogs and pickpockets.
