We’ve been chatting with Craig Rothwell - the chap behind the anticipated OpenPandora Project - about his latest venture: Creating an iPhone game within 30 days.

To help him out are a couple of homebrew stalwarts, though none has ever had a great deal of experience in working on the iPhone. ZodTTD has the most iPhone experience, as he put together the first emulation of Quake on Apple’s platform, while the game marks the first foray into commercial games for GP2X pixel artist Ruckage.

The three of them are looking to create an old school platform adventure game that Craig describes as a Dizzy clone that he hopes will bring in the retro fans. Wizzley Presto and the Mysterious Time Machine also looks to carry a bit of a Harry Potter torch, and even though its short development is only currently on day eight, it’s shaping up very nicely.

Once the game's released the team will be offering $1000 to the first person to finish Wizzley Presto, but more importantly they’re blogging the game’s entire development, which will undoubtedly prove to be a gift to the entire iPhone software community for a long time to come.

We’ll keep you posted on Wizzley Presto updates, and in the meantime you can check out this early demo video.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
