Windows Phone 7 to be on all five UK operators
|

Come October, Windows Phone 7 will be everywhere: on every carrier and in every mobile shop. Microsoft said today that its new device will be available on all five UK networks.

That means customers on Orange, O2, Vodafone, T-Mobile, and 3 Mobile will all get an opportunity to grab Microsoft’s new game focused blower, with Orange being the lead partner. The phone will also be on the shelves of The Carphone Warehouse and Phones4U.

Windows Phone 7 hooks up to your Xbox Live gamertag, gives you achievements, and has a lovely curated selection of top games.

The iPhone chose O2 as its lead partner when it launched in 2007. You can now grab Apple’s smartphone on all five UK networks.

Microsoft still refuses to give an exact date, anywhere in the world, for the device’s launch. Still, the company has claimed its “ready”, and will debut the gadget before the year is out. Rumours generally point to October.
