Rumour: Windows Phone 7 to launch October 11th

Gadget website Pocket-Lint says that Microsoft will be launching its upcoming fleet of smartphones, Windows Phone 7, on October 11th, 2010.
This comes from ‘sources familiar with the matter’, who are allegedly senior figures in the industry. They say that Microsoft will hold a launch extravaganza in New York, and then beam it around the world.
October has been the long-rumoured launch date for the device, and with advertising gearing up and game line-ups announced the device’s debut can’t be far off.
Asus, Dell, HTC, LG, and Samsung are all launch partners, though it's not confirmed which device creators will hit the launch day target.
Windows Phone 7 links up to your Xbox Live gamertag for achievements, leaderboards, and even your funny little avatar.
