HTC Mozart 'reveal' is music to our ears

Possible first Windows Phone 7 handset leaked, out October

With all the excitement surrounding iPhone 4, iPad, Android 2.2 and the Nokia N8 (ahem), we’re in danger of forgetting about that ominous shadow looming on the horizon. No, not that way – over there, across the pond.

Windows Phone 7 is coming, and it looks like it could well restore Microsoft to the status of ‘major player’ on the modern smartphone scene.

And now Bill’s boys appear to have suffered a leak down under. Aussie operator Telstra is the cause of the software giant’s weak bladder, with a recent roadmap appearing to show what could be the first Windows Phone 7 device.

It’s called the HTC Mozart, and it’ll apparently be available in October.

Unfortunately the picture of the device appears to be a cheap mock-up made using an HTC Desire with the Windows Phone 7 UI crudely copied and pasted on top, but it’s believed that the roadmap is indeed genuine.
