Microsoft has permanently cut the prices of seven Windows Phone Marketplace games to 79p / 99c to celebrate the launch of the Lumia 900.
In the process, the Redmond-based firm has established a new lowest possible price point for Windows Phone apps.
While Microsoft customers have been able to pick up the odd Deal of the Week title for £1.49 / $1.99, the starting price for standard games on Xbox Live used to be £1.99 / $2.99.
Judging by today's permanent price cuts - which apply to popular titles like Angry Birds, Burn the Rope, and Doodle God - Microsoft is taking a step towards the 69p / 99c App Store business model which has proved so successful for Apple.
