2 new Samsung Windows Phone smartphones revealed in court documents
The Odyssey and the Marco
As I'm sure you're all too aware, tech behemoths Apple and Samsung have being 'going at it' in courtrooms across the planet for what seems like, well, an eternity.
In actuality, Apple first sued Samsung for the "slavish" copying of the iPhone and iPad design back in April 2011. After 15 long months of legal sparring and jousting, the two smartphone giants are finally due to meet in a Californian court later today for a patents trial that will probably last four weeks.
Anyway, enough preamble. In court documents submitted as part of the aforementioned jury trial, Samsung has revealed two new dual-core Windows Phone 8 devices: the "Odyssey" and the "Marco".
The Odyssey will be the larger of the two devices, sporting, as it will, a 4.65-inch Super AMOLED screen. According to the court documents, it will also pack an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera and an embedded NFC chip.
The other device, dubbed the Marco, will reportedly sport a 4-inch Super AMOLED screen and 5-megapixel rear-facing camera.
Both the Marco and the Odyssey will be availlable in Q4 2012, and both will be compatible with 4G LTE networks, meaning faster uploads and downloads for users of these devices.
