Myriad of Dragons is an upcoming mobile trading card game based on European mythology that tells the tale of an epic battle between Titans and humans.

You play as a human commander who has to build an empire, raise an army, and recruit heroes and beasts to fight a war on two fronts against the titans and enemy commanders.

To fight against the Titan threat, you'll have to summon dragons to help you. These weaken nearby Titans which will leave them vulnerable to your attacks.

It's influenced by popular mobile games like Clash of Clans, Rage of Bahamut, and Brave Frontier so you can expect a similar experience here.

To discuss the upcoming trading card game in further detail, we reached out to Poh Zihan, Myriad of Dragon's creator, to learn what sets it apart from other trading card games and the challenges faced during development.

What do you think your game offers that you can’t get from any other title on the App Store?

"Myriad of Dragons is developed by gamers for gamers. It's not driven by profit and the concept of the game was written in collaboration with over 800 trading card players globally.

"The current lifespan of your average game is about two years, and that's not usually because it's going downhill, it's because it makes more business sense to move your player base onto a new game so they'll have to spend to start all over again.

"We've created a different type of business model, and it does really impact the game significantly.

"With Myriad of Dragons we offer you the chance to be in the driver's seat of the game's development, and I believe that no other game right now offers this.

"On top of that, we will strive to keep Myriad of Dragons running as long as the game is able to sustain itself.

"Also, I like get to know the players personally, and they're very welcome to can contact me on Line, WhatsApp, Kakao or Facebook Messenger.

"We've worked closely with them from the very beginning. The name was chosen by a vote in which over 600 players participated, and many items and events were named by the players."

What challenges did you face during development, and how did you overcome them?

"I'm a chemist by trade and this is the first game I've ever developed so I don’t have any background in computer programming or industry contacts.

"I sought help on social media, where I found over 800 trading card game experts willing to assist me. I'm a hardcore trading card gamer myself so I knew exactly where to look to find them.

"I also enlisted the help of a trusted friend of mine, who acted as the technical consultant for the project and was introduced to script writers and artists by the gaming community.

"Finding affordable artists was quite difficult at first so I went to DeviantArt to scout for new and undiscovered artists.

"Both parties ended up benefitting from this. I got the artwork I needed and the artists got exposure and feedback from the players.

Which part of the game are you personally the most proud of and why?

"I spent a great deal of time looking for artists and gathering information from the top ten trading card games on the market so I'd say the concept of the game and the artwork are the two highlights.

"I'm also proud that the events, designed in collaboration with over 800 players, are totally unique to my game."

Do you have anything planned in terms of future updates for the game and, if so, can you give us any details of what these might include?

"Yes, we plan to add ten events, nine of which are periodic and one of which is a weekend guild wars.

"The names of the nine events are Chest finding, Raid boss, Battle Field, Puzzle Jigsaw, Land Conqueror, Prison Break, Castle Defend, Pet Raising, and Troy."

Myriad of Dragons will launch soon on iOS, Android, and Windows Phone.
