We already knew GeoDefense was on its way over to Windows Phone 7 (and that Angry Birds was practically guaranteed, given the chatter on the wires), but Microsoft yesterday officially announced that both these and four other hit titles will be on their way to the platform during spring.

Part of the ‘Must Have Games’ promotion, the six titles will be rolled out over six weeks from April 7th in a fashion that should look familiar to Xbox Live Arcade gamers (one per week, then).

It will be the first time on a Microsoft platform for three of the titles - Doodle Jump, geoDefense, and Angry Birds - while Plants vs Zombies and Sonic The Hedgehog 4 Episode 1 have the benefit of adding to the player’s Gamerscore even if they already own the home console versions.

The black sheep of the group is Hydro Thunder Go, which marks the first time the water racing series has appeared on a portable system, and is a WP7 exclusive.

The XBLA version was regrettably lost under the waves being made by indie darling Limbo when it was released last year, so it’ll be interesting to see how well the portable version fares among the sea of iOS ports.

‘Must Have Games’ begins on the Zune Marketplace from April 7th.
