Scoreloop has announced that its cross-platform social gaming service is coming to Windows Phone 7.

Windows Phone 7’s integration with Xbox Live had indicated that there would be no possibility of a competitor on the platform, so the arrival of Scoreloop will be the first time that a third party will go toe to toe with Microsoft’s own gaming service.

Marc Gumpinger, CEO of Scoreloop, said, "Windows Phone 7 is an important step in our goal to encourage and support connected gaming across the entire mobile landscape."

This is likely to increase developer interest, given that Scoreloop recently announced that 1 million new users were signing up every week for the service, which is available on iOs, Android, and bada.

The news will also raise players’ hopes that a genuine all-platform mobile gaming service could be on the horizon.
