Given that Rovio's recent fortunes have rested largely on a game about birds, it's appropriate that the company is so fond of tweeting.

It was through Twitter that we learned, just before the launch of Windows Phone 7, that Microsoft had used images of Angry Birds without Rovio's permission, and on the same channel Rovio has today hinted that a Windows Phone 7 version of the casual hit is coming.

Responding to a query from @BrianFarnill, Rovio writes: “We will give you an update on our plans for WP7 on#angrybirdsday as well. Maybe a meetup in Redmond? Anybody?”

In case you're wondering, #angrybirdsday refers to a series of fan-fuelled Angry Birds flashmobs all over the world on December 11th.

It's not the first time Rovio has suggested that Angry Birds will come to Windows Phone 7. Just after Rovio publicly called Microsoft out, Pocket Gamer contacted the developer. “We definitely have our eyes on WP7,” Rovio's Ville Heijari told us, “among other platforms.”
