The Secret Cove is an upcoming game inspired (and what adventure game isn't?) by the majestic pointing and clicking of Myst, and other classics.

It is currently on Kickstarter for the next 23 days, looking to raise £50,000 to bring the game to Windows 8 tablets, iOS, and Android.

Based on the Kickstarter video above, The Secret Cove seems like a hardy mix of old adventure game tropes, with plenty of minor, yet impactful technological improvements to bring it into the modern day.

Wildlife, ambient weather effects, and other things help bring each scene to life, while the Cornwall, UK setting - depicted in around 100 separate 3D rendered 2D scenes - looks beautiful on its own.

The game itself sends you on a puzzle-heavy hunt for a lost treasure, with the developers promising "real world" puzzles that remain relevant to the task at hand.
