Microsoft's OEM partners peeved at being blindsided by Surface tablet announcement

It looks like a few of Microsoft's OEM partners are a bit peeved with the Redmond-based company after it apparently blindsided them with its Windows-branded tablet announcement.

A number of different OEMs have aired their gripes to website Reuters.

"No senior executives heard about the news last week," an anonymous Acer executive said. "We're quite surprised." A second anonymous source stated that there's a "sense of betrayal".

These comments, of course, completely contradict comments made by Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer earlier in the week, who suggested to The Verge that the company's hardware partners were made aware of the announcement prior to the official unveiling of the Surface tablets.
