Microsoft placates UK Surface pre-order no-shows with £50 store voucher

So, despite Microsoft's confusing emails last weekend, my Surface tablet has failed to arrived as promised.

Yet, before I can get all angry and shouty about the situation, another Microsoft missive hits my inbox.

"As stated at the time of order, we expect customers in the U.K. to receive their Surface devices between Oct. 26 and Oct. 30. We apologize for any confusion caused by subsequent emails stating an earlier or later arrival date," it starts.

Well, yes and no. October 26 was the launch date and as yet no Surface... But there's more.

"To make up for any inconvenience, we would like to offer you a single use coupon for up to £50 off your next purchase from Microsoft online store."

Well, that's not so bad then.

Let's just hope the postman has a big package for me on Monday.
