The Gamevice is a new Android and Windows 8 controller from the people behind the Wikipad gaming tablet

The next part of Wikipad Inc.'s plan to make us all play mobile games with buttons is here.

It's called the "Gamevice", and it's a bolt-on controller for Android and Windows 8 devices.

"We heard from many people who either expressed love for the Wikipad 7, or who already owned an iPad or an Android or Windows 8 mobile device and wanted us to make a controller that worked for them," Wikipad Inc. president Fraser Townley said.

"We are currently working on versions for Windows 8 and Android devices. We have not forgotten other important OS systems and we hope to announce additional support [for] those in the near future."

As you can see in the image below, the Gamevice boasts plenty of buttons and analogue sticks, and is made out of some sort of black plastic. Revolutionary.

Elsewhere in Wikipad world, the Wikipad itself will be updated OTA soon. As you can imagine, there'll be some new features in this update for the slightly underwhelming gaming tablet.

You can expect Android 4.2, controller mapping, support for a bunch of new Android games, and some new titles from WildTangent Games. Woo.

We'll let you know about a more concrete release date for the Wikipad update in due course. Of course.
