Samsung Wave officially announced with certified HD playback
|

Last month we reported on Samsung’s big reveal of its bada-powered Wave phone. The main excitement surrounding the device wasn’t so much the new OS, but the sparkly 3.3-inch super-AMOLED screen that made everything else - yes, even you Mr iPhone - look a bit dull.

Now, Samsung has officially revealed the phone, along with a further juicy morsel of information. We were aware that the device would feature 720p HD video output, but it turns out that it’s going to be the first mobile device to boast DivX certification for such a feature.

What this effectively means is that, combined with the class leading HD screen, you’ll be able to carry around a nigh-on flawless HD TV in your pocket.

Perhaps even more exciting is the news that the next Samsung device to feature DivX certification will be the Android-powered Galaxy S. Google’s excellent mobile OS (and version 2.1 at that) plus impeccable HD output?

Yes please.
