We didn't need mobile games to have fun back in the 1980s. Mainly because, well, we didn't have mobile phones. It was a bit of an obstacle.

Instead, we played with handheld water toys, where you had to press a button to spout coloured balls around, then tip the toy left and right to get them into various holes.

It was like Sea Monkeys meets basketball. Kind of.

Now Spanish developer Movilenio has turned these retro toys into a new mobile game, released under its AnyPlays banner. The idea is still the same though, with you using one button to shoot the balls up, and then left and right buttons to tilt the virtual toy to move them around.

Water Game will have eight different toys to play with, and each will be playable in Free mode, Easy Challenge and Hard Challenge – unlocking the next toy each time you complete one. We'll keep you posted on any UK release, but in the meantime, watch the action in the video below:
