Game Dev Story spin-off, The Game Dealer, out now for Japanese iPhones

Kairosoft has released a spin-off from the cult-phenomenon Game Dev Story on Japanese iPhones, possibly paving the way for another western translation in the future.

The Game Dealer (or, WaiWai! The Game Dealer to give its official, jolly name) focuses on the retail side of the industry, rather than rooting out bugs and forcing your staff to work for countless hours to get the latest blockbuster instalment of animal/action-adventure ‘Cat Man’ out.

Details of the title are a little scarce, with Touch Arcade reporting that it’ll contain the ability to sell food to your customers (as you do) and the official site mentioning familiar-sounding gameplay elements such as expanding the store and getting onboard popular market shifts.

The proper sequel to the original Game Dev Story has already been confirmed for a western release, so there’s definitely going to be at least one of the company’s (many) addictive management games on their way across to the at some point in the future.
