Vodafone dealing with Nexus One complaints over delayed Froyo update
|

Nexus One customers on Vodafone aren’t happy. While customers on other Androids and other carriers are living it up with the latest ‘droid update, Froyo, Vodafone customers rocking the Nexus One have to wait a little longer.

Customers are worried that the big V will omit features from the update as Android licensees are allowed to cut and edit the firmware updates as they please.

Luckily, moderators on the official Vodafone forums are setting customers straight: no features will be cut, they’re just making sure that the basic services (like voicemail, MMS and data connections) all work fine and dandy on Vodafone.

Admin Tom says, “we don't add any functionality to, or remove any functionality from it. What we do do is ensure the handset is optimised for performance on Vodafone so that it's ready for you to use how you want to as soon as the software update is complete”.

So, Vodafone is currently, “waiting for Google to release our version of software for approval and will make this available to our customers as soon as possible.” That means Vodafone can’t give out a specific date, but it will be released as soon as they can get it out.
