HTC sell 15,000 Vive headsets in 10 minutes
Makes quite a lot of money.
What can you do in 10 minutes?
I've got no vision, so I asked Twitter. Anyway, you could eat some toast? Watch half an episode of Community? Have a shower? Do a bunch of push ups and sit ups? Maybe you could even eat 68.5 peas.
What about if you were HTC? Well. You could sell 15,000 units in 10 minutes, netting yourself nearly $12 million in sales. Obviously it's probably a drop in the ocean considering how much money they've already poured into the Vive, but it's a massive vote of confidence in the room scale VR.
There are 1000 think pieces asking if VR will be making any money, and while this isn't an answer yet, it's still an eye-watering amount of money to make in ten minutes.
What it does show is that despite the hefty price tag, consumers are willing to part with their cash.
