Rare confirms its handheld gardening game is ready for release

Viva Pinata DS is complete

Rare has confirmed, in the Scribes Mailbag section of its website, that Viva Piñata: Pocket Paradise for DS is complete.

According to a reply on the website's letters page: "Viva Piñata DS is complete. We are just waiting for our army of university interns, illegal immigrants and small children from the local schools to assemble the hand-made cartridges that we'll be selling at all good flea markets this Sunday."

So that's good news for everyone – not least the revelation that university students may actually get to do some work.

Last month the game was submitted to the BBFC for classification by publisher THQ, which will presumably be publishing the game made by Microsoft-owned studio Rare. There's still no official word on the game's release date, but all signs clearly point to it being very soon.

Seeing as next to nothing has been seen of the game up to now, we're very much looking forward to getting our green fingers on it.
