UK developer Fireproof is making one of the first games for Samsung and Oculus's Gear VR, in jetpack-powered spy thriller Omega Agent.

But the studio's Barry Meade tells Pocket Gamer that it has no plans to bring its flagship game series, The Room, to the world of virtual reality.

For starters, it just wouldn't work from a technical perspective. "These environments aren't designed to be seen in 360 degrees," says Meade. "There's a lot of smoke and mirrors."

He also argued that the current way of controlling VR games - a typical gamepad - would hinder the experience. "I think you'd lose something. The Room is all about that one to one interaction."

But, Meade says you shouldn't rule it out entirely. "Never says never." Until then, you'll have to make do with The Room 3, which is out on iOS and Android in spring 2015.
