I think we can all agree that the porgs weren't quite the annoyance that we expected them to be after their initial reveal in The Last Jedi's trailer – in fact, they were actually pretty charming, so yesterday's announcement of Project Porg is very welcome in my eyes.

Star Wars: Project Porg is an AR title which sees players raising a family of the cuddly little creatures, all with some loving guidance from Anthony Daniels' C-3PO.

We'll have the chance to play with the virtual pets, feed them, and teach them how to manoeuvre around the environment.

So, if porg rearing sounds like your dream occupation, then you'll likely be chuffed to hear that Project Porg will be available in December for free on the Magic Leap One augmented reality headset.
