Social strategy Clash of Clans has today jumped on the wagon and released a 3D video that you can experience in VR.

There's no interactivity beyond choosing where you look, but you do get to see one of Clash of Clans raids up close and personal, standing on the watch tower as enemies swarm a city.

The art style is instantly recognisable but still gorgeous, but I think the main thing to applaud is the way that things don't just happen in front of you. Most 3D videos tend to have a little bit of peripheral action but largely focus on the default area in front of you.

Not so with this video, where I accidentally missed 90% of the action the first time around by looking at the ground in the wrong direction. For the best view, watch the fireball tossing mage standing on top of the rock. That guy is a shiny golden god of base defence.

Whether this'll lead to more VR Clash of Clans is unknown - who knows how a VR headset would fit in with all of the clicking and upgrading.

Strap the below video into your Google Cardboard and let us know what you think. Remember to click through or load it in your mobile Youtube app for the 3D aspect.
