Venger beams onto the App Store
3D iPhone space shooter now available
The wonderfully titled developer Wretched Games has just spun out its first iPhone game onto the App Store, called Venger.
It's somewhat reminiscent of WipeOut to look at. You use the accelerometer to pilot your 3D spacecraft through 20 levels of trenches, tunnels and asteroid fields. Waiting at the end is a big boss, requiring you to blast through their armies of UFOs to destroy the space station at its core.
There're also turbo boost and laser cannons controlled by the touchscreen, so it definitely looks to be something of a high octane thrill ride. Blast the 'Track It!' button into space dust for more Venger news as it lands.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
