While we were chewing the iFat with Chillingo earlier about it publishing Zen Bound on the iPhone, we also picked up some tasty crumbs of info on two other App Store titles it’s working on.

Vector Tanks looks like a real gem for any retro heads out there. It’s pretty obvious from the screenshots and the gameplay video below that it’s heavily inspired by a certain classic 3D tank game. But what’s also fascinating is the guy who put it together for the iPhone.

Anyone who’s ever got into the grey area of arcade game emulation (I have a full size MAME machine in my office, which is cooler than Fonzie) will know the name Peter Hirschberg, whose efforts have (indirectly) contributed to the MAME project and who coded the arcade vector emulator, Vector Dream.

You’ve got to check out his own personal arcade he’s got at his house. It makes my MAME machine look like a knackered Game Boy.

Also on the roster for Chillingo is a beautiful looking isometric fighting game called iDracula. The game features an army of undead nasties for you to battle, including the sharp-toothed head honcho himself, Dracula.

What’s surprising here is that iDracula will weigh in at only 59p, which looks like a real bargain right now, considering those beautiful visuals.

Vector Tanks is being submitted to Apple tomorrow, and will hopefully be with us by the end of the week. iDracula will be submitted shortly after Zen Bound, so we’re probably looking toward the end of February for that one.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
