Just before Christmas we promised to let you know when the new iPhone game Vector TD made its way to PSP Minis, and developer Candystand has just dropped us a line to announce it's now available over the PlayStation Store.

Vector TD began life as an immensely popular in-browser Flash game, before making its way to the App Store. The PSP Minis version contains eight maps, all 11 variations of tower and seven enemy types - just like the original browser game.

At first glance it look like quite a basic tower defence game, but don't let the straight lines fool you - this is a surprisingly intense and strategic take on usual gameplay, requiring you to make some fast and accurate decision in upgrading your towers before the invading Vectoids fly by.

You can grab Vector TD now from the European PlayStation Store for the PSP for £2.49 (US and Asian versions will be released in February, we're told), and it's fully compatible with the PS3.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
