Mobile phones capable of PS3/Xbox 360 graphics by 2013
In a couple of years, your phone could be flinging current-generation console graphics at you in games, according to Qualcomm.
The mobile tech firm is holding an event called Innovation Qualcomm in London this morning, to show off its latest tech and talk strategy.
As part of it, the company's Sy Choudhury talked about advances in its chipsets, which are being embedded in a range of Android, Windows Mobile and Symbian handsets already (and possibly soon the iPhone according to recent rumours).
The key thing from PG's perspective: Choudhury's claim that while its current chipsets can deliver gaming performance comparable to iPhone 3GS or PlayStation 2, the ones it's making that'll appear in phones in 2011-2013 will be capable of Xbox 360 or PS3 performance.
Modern Warfare 2 running on your next phone? It could happen. Even if it's a bugger to control...

And once photo-realism on 3D screen displays is achieved on Iphone 2014 where do we go next? Miniature iphone screens implanted onto the backs of our eyelids?! (I'm only half joking!)

Well if the controls for COD WAW Zombies on the iPhone are whats used then I would be seriously happy! Its a great looking game and retains the look and feel of the console version.
Xbox 360 / PS3 performance on your phone? Now that would be great!

Yeah... but what about the storage issue. People blew gaskets and fuses when Myst (700mb) was released on the App Store. Next gen console games can take up 3Gb easy...
I personally would not mind it if iPhone games took up a massive amount of space... but those people that are determined to walk around with their entire 150Gb music collection will not be happy about huge game sizes.
... my 3GS is only half taken up by all of the stuff i have on my device. I think i have like 5 gigs of highly picked through music.
Any way - bring on the big games!
