Lego Harry Potter: Years 1-4 iPhone gets an update, D-pad finally added
Wizard
As well as a new film and the usual avalanche of tie-in merchandise, Potter fans will have one more reason to rejoice this Christmas, as Lego Harry Potter: Years 1-4 receives a much-needed update. Version 1.1 of the boy wizard's first Lego outing now packs revamped controls, using a virtual D-pad rather than the original's touch control. It now also supports any device running iOS 4.1, iPhone 3G, and 2nd and 3rd generation iPod touchs. Lego Harry Potter: Years 1-4 fared well at review, receiving praise for its scale and humour and for proving that expansive adventures can work on a portable device. Pocket Gamer's Tracy Erickson gave it an impressive Silver Award, only shying away from higher accolades due to the frustrating touch control. Now that you don't have to obscure the action with a finger, the game looks set to become a classic. There are 44 levels of action based on scenes from the four films, a hundred characters – complete with Lego-style customisation options - and hours of replay value as you scour Hogwarts for hidden secrets. Lego Harry Potter: Years 1-4 is available on now, priced £2.99 / $4.99/ €3.99.
