In all the hustle and bustle of E3 2008 this week, it's worth remembering that even if that show stopping announcement about Sony deciding to give away the PSP for free from now on, or Nintendo including a real-life pet Yoshi with every new DS didn't happen, there is still always one thing you can depend on.

What's that we hear you meekly whimper? It's gaming related freebies plucked straight from our swollen clairvoyant brains (well, we use our noggins to hunt them down online anyway), delivered to you once a week without fail.

No need to thank us, as ever.

The first port of call is the PSP which has two new demos. Sadly, they're not for hotly anticipated games like Resistance: Retribution or Patapon 2, nor are they even in English (hence the reason they can't be found in our own Demos section).

That said, the very generously large demo of Phantasy Star Portable available at the PSP Demo Centre should be enough to convince you of the merit of a game you never knew you wanted.

Infinite Loop (also available on the PSP Demo Centre), meanwhile, is a bit of a tougher sell given its reliance on dialogue, but for those of you out there looking for a good reason to practise your Japanese and game at the same time, excuses don't come better packaged than this, at this time on a Friday afternoon.

As for the DS, we've found a freebie that requires you to exercise those arts and crafts impulses that have been dwindling steadily since you got too old to make robots out of toilet paper tubes and empty cereal boxes.

With Guitar Hero: On Tour now in full-on assault mode, the game's official website has put together a collection of skins formatted for slipping on top of the official peripheral that comes with the game. You will need to print, cut out and attach the skins yourself but the templates feature all manner of graphic art flourishes that we would hazard are somewhat beyond the average Joe or Jane Von Wannnarock.

Lastly, if you've already seen our tips for the ten free iPhone games you shouldn't miss, we have another recommendation for your iPhone (or iPod touch, even). So far as we can tell Aurora Feint: The Beginning is basically a Puzzle Quest clone in that it's a match-'em-up puzzle game with deeply rooted RPG elements.

The exciting thing is that the game's creators, Danielle Cassley and Jason Citron, promise that this is the first episode in what will evolve to become a full-on MMO. Sounds exciting and makes getting in on the ground floor with the first instalment of the game all the more worthwhile.

You can check out more details about Aurora Feint: The Beginning game on its official site or just download it from the App Store for free and give it a try.

That's it for now. Click 'Track It!' to be sure to catch next week's offerings.
