It’s Friday, and that means it’s time to talk about free stuff. 

We'll start, as we often do, with the PSP. Owners of the game Grand Turismo PSP are in luck this week as Sony has released the Special Vehicles Pack for the game, which you can download from the PSP Store for free.

The pack includes five new vehicles from the dream garage end of the scale including the Lamborghini Countach LP400 and the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren.

There are also some themes, wallpapers and trailers to be had from the PSP Store that are reasonably new. There’s a new LocoRoco Midnight Carnival theme, a new Pinball Heroes trailer, and various wares for the game Savage Moon.

Moving over to the iPhone, we feel duty bound to point you towards the site freeappaday.com and tell you that it features a free App every day. Today it’s Battle Bears 1.5: Zombies, which is as brilliant a name for a game as we can think of - tomorrow, it will be something else.

But remember, our own site is also a great place for iPhone freebies, with both the free iPhone games Trawler Report and the twice weekly iPhone gaming podcast, both offering costless relief in these threadbare January days.

Though the DS continues to be a miserable little skinflint, hoarding all its fun like a selfish clown, the Apple stable is set to get better. Expect the release of the iPad to herald all sorts of free content in the book, magazine, and comics department (or at least that’s what we’re hoping).
