Glu and GetJar team up for free Java, Android, and BlackBerry games

We’re used to seeing iOS-related sales here at Pocket Gamer towers (as well as the occasional Ovi store blowout), but Android, Java, and BlackBerry owners often get stuck with the same paid titles week-in-week-out.

This is changing. GetJar has just announced that it has teamed up with Glu Mobile to provide some of the company’s biggest games on the aforementioned platforms for free.

These include the fantastic Build-a-Lot 2 and Stranded: Mysteries of Time, although only the latter appears to be available on the GetJar website at the time of writing.

This sudden sale is a pilot for a new initiative from the mobile games distributor, which is hoping that ‘sponsored app placements’ on the site will allow it to give away certain content for free in the future as well.
