We'll level with you from the start: Turbo Tennis isn't, as such, a brand new game. It was originally announced in the US last October by Bellrock Media, as a co-branded game with broadcaster The Tennis Channel.

However, since we're based in Europe, where to our knowledge the game has yet to be released, we thought it was worth covering since it has just come to our attention. Especially as in contrast to more serious tennis sims like Tennis Open 2007, Turbo Tennis puts a cartoony spin on things.

So, fellow players include a sumo wrestler, a ballerina and a granny, while available power-ups include voodoo storms, super-rackets and slippery courts. If only Wimbledon was this much fun...

The game includes Quick Match and Turbo Tennis Tournament modes, with a progression that sees you go from dog-eared local courts through regional venues and onto the national circuit.

We think Turbo Tennis sounds great, so hopefully it'll get a belated European release. Click 'Track It!' for alerts if it does.
