[Editor's note: the following has been amended to better reflect the true extent of Mr Scott-Baron's involvement in LostWinds, which we unintentionally exaggerated in the first draft.] LostWinds wasn't just a launch title for WiiWare, but it's one of the platform's most celebrated and unique titles to date.

Much of its popularity comes from the outstanding presentation, in which artist and programmer Hayden Scott-Baron was a member of the character modelling team at Frontier Developments, following the art direction of Chris Symonds to help realise Chris's enchanting vision.

Now Scott-Baron's just dropped us a line to announce his entry into iPhone game development.

His first title is a cute and "occasionally maddening" puzzle called Tumbledrop, in which you remove the shapes to safely bring the pink star to the floor. One wrong move when unlocking the bizarre shapes and the star can be sent tumbling into the water.

Tumbledrop promises single handed gameplay, which is quite unusual (though good for the bus or train). It was originally released as an in-browser game, but because it was built using the popular Unity engine Scott-Baron says he was able to bring it to the iPhone along with a host of new features.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
