How's this for a shocking, eat-your-hamster-now revelation: developer Traveller's Tales is working on more Lego games for new parent company Warner Bros. That's according to TT company president Jon Burton speaking during an interview with magazine Variety.

"We've gotten started doing some Lego games on the Warner IP… down the line," Burton said while building a bank out of gold-plated plastic blocks. He also spoke about some of the company's other plans, which include branching into TV, saying: "I think further in the future we're making a kids' TV show… using some of the tech we've developed for games."

British developer Traveller's Tales has achieved massive success with its Lego licensed games, with the Lego Star Wars series alone shifting over 15 million units and the recent Lego Indiana Jones topping the games charts. It's no surprise that Warner, after acquiring the studio last year, is keen for it to create more games in the series.

Speaking about some of the other licensed titles Traveller's Tales has been responsible for creating, such as home console versions of Transformers: The Game and The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, Burton says the studio has built a "reputation for treating people's IPs well."

Since Warner bought the studio, he also says he's been able to experiment "without quitting the day job, so to speak."

"So for me, to look to the future and think, 'I wouldn't mind [doing a film]…' And Warner allows me to take a step in that direction, and if I suck? Great, I'll make games."

So, TV and film projects aside, the big news is that – following Lego Batman, due out later this year – Traveller's Tales will be bringing us more Lego games. And following the excellence of Lego Indiana Jones (on DS, at least), that's very welcome news.
