'Tower Defense' copyright-holder Com2uS releases iOS tower defence game Tower Defense: Lost Earth

It's a tower defence game, I think.

'Tower Defense' copyright-holder Com2uS releases iOS tower defence game Tower Defense: Lost Earth

Did you know that Korean developer Com2uS has the trademark for the term 'Tower Defense'? Well it does, and yet Tower Defense: Lost Earth is its first game that employs the term.

And it's out now on the New Zealand App Store.

As you might expect, Tower Defense: Lost Earth is a tower defence strategy game, where you fend off wave after wave of meddlesome beasts. There are ten different enemies to meet the business end of your wrath, four game modes to choose from, and four special weapons.

You can look forward to 40 maps of alien-battling carnage across five landscapes of ice, desert, and lava - all in the name of searching for new earth-bound resources.

Whether the game brings any new precious resources to the real-time strategy genre remains to be seen, though you can get an idea by having a spy in the gallery and at the video below.

Tower Defense: Lost Earth will hit the US and UK App Stores at around 11PM and midnight respectively. The iPhone version will be $2.99/£1.79, while Tower Defense: Lost Earth HD for iPad will be $4.99/£2.99.
