Com2uS preps iOS fantasy sci-fi game Tower Defense: Lost Earth for release

It's long been known that Korean publisher Com2uS owns the US trademark for the term 'Tower Defence', forcing other games on the App Store to carry the 'TD' moniker.

Now, the irony that Com2uS didn't actually have a tower defence game available on the Store itself is to be eliminated with the release of Tower Defense: Lost Earth.

Taking a colourful fantasy sci-fi art theme, the game will boast single player Campaign and boss-based and leaderboard-oriented Challenge modes.

Towers of powers

Obviously, the gameplay has you protecting your base from the incoming alien hordes by placing various towers within a pre-set grid-based level, upgrading them to increase their lethality, as well as unlocking more powerful weapons, and using smart bomb-style one shot weapons like air strikes and nuclear bombs.

Nine different towers are promised, as are more than 40 maps, ranged across mountains, desert, ice, and lava, and four mission objectives.

Tower Defense: Lost Earth is due for release on iPhone and iPad on 26 May.
