Tony Hawk's Project 8 leaps onto your phone

The Hawkster's gone all casual on yo' ass

Tony Hawk's Project 8 leaps onto your phone

Okay, so another Tony Hawk skateboarding game is coming to mobile. It's bound to be fiddly, frustrating, and impossible to play, unless you're BOTH a ninja thumb-warrior AND a skateboarding expert, right?

Wrong. Well, hopefully. Infospace has bagged the mobile rights to the upcoming Tony Hawk's Project 8 console game and the publisher is taking it in a more casual direction. That's right, it's a one-thumb game!

Which for those of us who've struggled with previous Hawk mobile games could be great news.

Details are fairly scarce on the game's exact format, other than that it's more of a rhythm-button game, where you have to hit the correct directions at the correct time. Do well, and you speed up, but do badly, and prepare to taste pavement. Along the way, there's a bunch of tricks too, as you'd expect.

It sounds to us like it uses the same idea as Hands On's Spider-man Webslinger game, although hopefully it won't be as difficult. However what's really got us looking forward to Tony Hawk's Project 8 is its standout graphics. Check the psychedelic screenshots at the top of this story.

The game is due out this year, and we'll have a review for you once we've found our shades to play the game. Click 'Track It!' for a reminder.
