DS gets saddled with Tim Stockdale's Riding Star

Yet another horse rising game is about to be added to DS's more than ample stable of them, courtesy of Eidos and Tim Stockdale's Riding Star.

Tim Stockdale, we're ashamed to say, isn't a sportsman who features on our radar but apparently he's one of the greatest equestrian sportsmen Great Britain has ever seen. He's represented his country over a period of 20 years - although I'm guessing being asked to star in his very own DS horse game is one of the highlights of his lengthy career.

It's just a shame it doesn't sound like a bit more of an original one. Riding Star instead seems to tick the same boxes as the numerous horse games that have trotted before it - with features such as keeping your horse well fed and groomed, dressage, cross-country riding, and show jumping events to play.

There are three play modes included - Career, Single Player and Hot Seat mode, and you'll be able to compete head-to-head against friends.

Eidos describes it as the most realistic equestrian simulation available for DS - but Eidos would.

Budding Stockdale's don't have long to wait for the game - Tim Stockdale's Riding Star is due for release on September 19th.
