Oakland-based developer XEOPlay recently released a colourful iPhone puzzler called Tilt World.

In this game, you take on the role of a young tadpole called Flip, who's on a mission to end climate change once and for all. As you play, your in-game actions are mirrored in the real-world by XEOPlay's partner WeForest, which has launched a campaign to plant one million trees in Madagascar.

"XEOPlay's mission is to improve the quality of our lives through play. We do this through playsourcing, which means using fun as a source of human motivation to help people change themselves and change their world," Nicole Lazzaro, CEO of XEOPlay, told VentureBeat.

Human potential

Future updates to Tilt World will introduce downloadable adventure packs that address other common issues, such as clean water. XEOPLay will also developer further titles that focus on real-life problems and encourage players to participate in a solution.

"Tilt World is our first contribution in what we hope to be a long series of playsourced games that make the world a better place. We look forward to continuing our adventure of unlocking human potential through the power of play," Lazzaro commented.

You can download Tilt World from the App Store for 69p / 99c.
