Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 connects mobile to console

Improve Xbox 360 and PS3 stats through your pocket game

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 connects mobile to console

EA's mobile version of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 introduces the company's first integration between mobile phone and home console, by allowing your pocket version's stats boost and skill level to carry over onto the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the golf game.

"We're excited to bring mobile-to-console gameplay to our customers," said Adam Sussman, EA Mobile's veep of publishing. "Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 features a 'Console Boost', which enables players to improve the skill level of their console character by playing the mobile game."

Using this 'Console Boost' feature, your mobile gaming stats and skill level are stored online in your registered EA account, and can then be transferred to your connected console for you to continue improving your character's ability on the home platforms.

There's no mention that the system works for the Wii, though the Tiger Wood's licensed game for Nintendo's platform is slightly different in operation, which presumably has something to do with its exclusion.

Still, it's great to see the mobile platform standing alongside the home consoles, so let's hope this encourages a bit more cross-platform compatibility in pocket games.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
