The iPhone Updates Update V1.1: Flashback fix, Flower Garden grows...
|

It’s been a reasonably quiet week in updates this week. Chatter about them on our forums has increased a little bit over last weeks, but that’s not to say that we don’t want more gamers posting what they want, and more developers posting what they are about to deliver.

So if you haven’t already, be sure to register for our forums. They are primed and ready to become the lynchpin of our weekly update coverage, so get in now, and fame for your amazing suggestions and coverage for your fantastic improvements shall be your rewards.

In the meantime, on with the best updates this week had to offer.

Top five updates this week

Flower Garden v1.2

Green fingered gamers will be pleased to know that you can now label all of your Flower Garden flowers using plant tags for each pot. You can also send a copy of any bouquet to yourself when sending a special someone some digital daffodils.

Though this isn’t the Facebook integration update we’ve been hoping for (coming soon apparently), it’s still a decent upgrade, though it’s the mooted cross pollination update that’s sure to give Flower Garden much deeper gaming roots.

iTunes link Zentomino v1.3

There isn’t much to say about Zentomino apart from that if you have already managed to beat the original 171 puzzles then you should probably be using your powers of mental agility to benefit mankind in some way.

Then again, you could put that off while you play through this update - another nine levels couldn’t hurt.

iTunes link Flashback v1.1

Something of a controversial release, the much loved Flashback wasn’t quite as the fans remembered it when it first arrived on the iPhone. Thankfully, those initial failures can be forgotten about like a bad dream, as the latest update fixes Flashback’s most glaring problems.

Besides a glorious new full screen mode, the update packs in a vastly overhauled control scheme, detailed in-game help, help overlay for controls and an auto-rotate function that was missing from the iPod touch version.

The consensus on the App Store seems to be that the game works much better now, but be sure to let us know what you think of the update in the Updates section of our forums.

iTunes link Space Trader: Moon Madness v1.1

A first-person game about an intergalactic flee market might not sound that tantalising, but Space Trader: Moon Madness has proved itself popular enough to earn an update.

You can now choose the length of the game so that the fun doesn’t end after one month. There has also been a framerate boost and some memory optimisation to make the game run super smooth.

Not as exciting as the promised combat update, though this update does provide a good excuse to pick the game back up in anticipation of weaponry being added. Hopefully the more money you have when that update goes live, the better the destructive toys you’ll be able to buy.

iTunes link Super Yum Yum 3 v1.0.2

This imaginative little puzzler has garnered something of a cult following, so Super Yum Yum 3's new update should have people prepping their fruit guzzling skills.

Yep, that’s right: Super Yum Yum 3 now has Facebook connect integration for publishing your high scores - bragging has never been so much fun. There’s also a new ‘Rewind’ button, so that you can undo your previous move, should you make a false step.

This one has already generated quite a bit of chatter in the iPhone Updates section of our forums with the developers, so if you are looking for another place to brag about your high scores, or to suggest future updates, you know where to go.
